First Visit

During your first appointment at Mendota Springs Dentistry we will take an X-ray of your teeth in order to evaluate their current condition and positions within your mouth. Having a clear picture of your mouth allows us to precisely clean your teeth and provide any needed treatment.

Our dental hygienist will use these clear digital X-ray pictures to diagnose any areas of concern inside your mouth before they can even be detected by the human eye. With this precise picture, your teeth can be thoroughly cleaned and areas of concern can be evaluated by our dentists.

A thorough examination and cleaning are done not only to leave you with a clean set of teeth, but also to leave your mouth as healthy as possible when you leave our practice. An overabundance of plaque can lead to gingivitis, or an even more dangerous form of gum disease called periodontitis. If there are signs that your gums are infected, we will offer solutions for deep cleaning your gums and teeth in order to restore their health. No procedure will ever be performed without your full knowledge and approval. Dr. Jacoby will take the time to meet with you and discuss needed treatment and answer any questions that you may have.
